Job Description
Responsibilities:
Lead a team to :
- work with most senior business leadership to identify compliance risks and supervise Thermo Fisher China’s compliance status, assisting China Compliance Director to define major business/ethical risky areas, raising practical countermeasures to avoid risks, thus, to ensure the China growth on the right track;
- continuously establishing, updating, improving and implementing compliance-related internal control system and SOPs, ensure Thermo Fisher’s compliance requirements being carried through the company, the employees, and external business partners, e.g. distributors, dealers and vendors.
- communicate compliance rules to employees, external business partners and educate them on how to apply these rules. Ensure all employees are adequately aware and trained on Thermo Fisher business ethics, policies and procedures. Develop and maintain a culture of integrity.
- provide support and advice on compliance related matters. Monitor and test behavior of employee and external business partners against company integrity rules and report findings to business leadership.
- proactive involvement of business activity including regular business meetings, projects planning with compliance insights provided so to enable a more compliant business design from beginning.
- support management to define and implement improvement strategy and actions regarding revealed compliance issue (monitoring result, process gap, investigation result follow up).
- champion speak-up, transparency and a culture of integrity.
- support internal audit preparation, investigation, site visit, and follow up as required.
- work closely with Trade Compliance and EH&S Regulatory Compliance to have a full picture of Thermo Fisher China’s compliance work so that to ensure the operation fully complying with relevant laws/regulations and Thermo Fisher internal policies.
- support different compliance projects. Manage the implementation of compliance programs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8-10 years of work experience with at least 5+ years of directly relevant work in Compliance and/or Operations with substantial exposure to FCPA and UK Anti-Bribery Act preferably in the pharmaceutical/medical device industries or other healthcare industry.
- Bachelor degree or above. Legal background is preferred. Advanced degree, CPA certification, UK Bribery Act certification, audit experience, or Juris Doctorate a plus.
- Thorough working knowledge of compliance and regulatory affairs (familiar with trade compliance, import/export affairs, or EHS regulatory affairs are welcome).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability in working independently and under pressure, can-do attitude and self-motivated with bias for action
- Proven integrity and high ethical standards
- Excellent communication in English and Chinese (Mandarin) is necessary
- Good at people management
- Strong competence in strategic planning and execution of commercial compliance programs.
